The Chinese clone of Nokia N86 flagship smartphone managed to appear on sale before the original. Forgery’s name is NCKIA N86E 8MP.

The appearance of NCKIA N86E 8MP is very close to the original and to differ the copy from the original can only be done by minor differences. In their turn, the technical characteristics of the clone have nothing common with Nokia N86.

Nokia: MVC Video Codec

The Finnish company Nokia officially announced that the MVC video codec (Multi-view Video Coding) is available to everybody.

MVC Standard was developed jointly by Telecommunication Standardization Sector of ITU and the Moving Picture Experts Group, MPEG of ISO / IEC and has gained great popularity today. At its core, MVC standard is a superstructure on H.264/AVC video codecs, and its code is optimized for using in various mobile devices. Additionally, this MVC code includes player for the Maemo platform, which greatly facilitates the lives of many developers.

Intel and Nokia: Strategic Partnership

Intel and Nokia announced the conclusion of long-term strategic partnership agreement, which aims to co-creation of a new class of mobile devices based on Intel chipsets. Both giants promise that these devices will combine the power of computers with communicational capabilities of mobile phones.

The plans of producers include the creation of such a device, which will in many ways surpass modern netbooks and smartphones, and along with innovative hardware, it will include a number of innovative applications and Internet services. Intel will create the hardware, and Nokia will provide its policy of use.
In addition, both companies will cooperate in the field of software with open source and will take active role in the development of oFono, ConnMan, Mozilla, X. Org, BlueZ, D-BUS, Tracker, GStreamer, PulseAudio, Moblin and Maemo. The combination of these technologies can provide the user with a full mobile Internet with rich graphics and multimedia capabilities.
The manufacturers do not reveal the details about what exactly would constitute a self-developed device, as well as when to expect its announcement.

NDKLA 5900-2 mobile is made in a monoblock form factor without any keyboard. The inscription on its front surface is trying to convince us that this device belongs to the XpressMusic line, and the rear side, on the contrary, argues that it is a business smartphone, that belongs to the E-Series. In fact, this “clone phone” is neither the one nor the other, but a fairly typical modern Chinese touch phone. The specifications of NDKLA 5900-2 include a 3.2-inch display with a resolution of 240х400 pixels with 262 thousand color, 0.3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth module, FM-radio, stereo speakers and a microSD slot for memory cards format. The phone is designed to work in networks of the standard GSM 900/1800 MHz and supports Dual-SIM. According to the manufacturer, the built-in battery NDKLA 5900-2 has a capacity of 6800 mAh, but it can only provide 2-3 hours of talk time and 220-260 hours of standby time.

The cost of NDKLA 5900-2 is only $ 97.

Nokia N97 Smartphone with New Firmware

The Finnish company Nokia has updated the software for its flagship touchscreen smartphone Nokia N97. New firmware is denoted by the 11.0.021 subscript.
