… According to Michael Hsu, the third quarter of this year should start with producing smartphones based on Symbian3. This OS will get an improved user interface, full support of “multitouch” and HDMI technologies, expanded graphical possibilities and visual effects.
By the end of 2010 or in early 2011 Nokia will start working with Symbian4 operating system, which will include a new user interface. It is noted that by the next year, about 55% of mobile devices from this manufacturer will use the Symbian S60 platform, another 35% – Symbian S40. Approximately 10% of the company will use Maemo gadgets.
Concerning Maemo: In the second half of the year the Finnish company has identified the issue of at least one device based on the sixth version of this software platform.
Last year, Nokia supplied a total of 432 million mobile devices, which corresponds to 39% of world market of mobile devices.
