AT&T has announced Nokia Windows Phone 8 smartphones at cheaper prices than expected.
Those who want to experience the first PureView smartphone running WP OS should pay $100, sign a two-year contract and get their hands on the Lumia 920. The phone costs $50 less than what we saw at Best Buy. The unlocked Lumia 920 will be yours for only $450; accordingly, all previous rumors stating the device would come at $600 off-contract were fake.
If you can’t afford yourself this high-end smartphone, AT&T is offering the mid-range Lumia 820 for $50. It yields to the Lumia 920 in many aspects but for $50 you’ll be given a chance to own a Windows Phone 8 smartphone packed with a 4.3-inch screen, dual-core processor and 8MP camera. Both devices are ready for pre-order starting from today, November 7, and will be out on November 9.
Besides these handsets AT&T will release another Windows Phone 8 device, the HTC 8X. The latter will be offered in two variants — the 16GB for $200, and the 8GB (carrier exclusive) for $100. The 8GB HTC 8X will be launched in California Blue or Limelight, and AT&T will be the only carrier in the US to offer the Limelight-colored option.
