Nokia Asha 300: Camera Phone(0) Considering its camera capabilities, the Nokia Asha 300 is the most photo-centric device of the the Asha lineup. In contrast to 3.2 and 2 megapixel cameras offered by the rest of devices of the Asha lineup, the Asha 300 comes with a 5 megapixel camera. The feature phone comes with a 2.4 inch display with the support of physical numeric keypad and the Nokia X3Touch and Type and Nokia C3 Touch and Type feature package. As the rest of the devices of the lineup, the Nokia Asha 300 also comes with the support of Angry Birds game. This candybar form factor handset is pretty light with a weight of only 85 grams. It comes with rounded edges and slightly curved back. It’s comfortable to hold and can be even called a compact pocket phone. The device comes in two color options: Black and Red. The device is not that impressive if compared with similar X3 and C3 Touch and Type devices. But if you consider its low price, then you get a reason to purchase this handset. It’ll be available at a price of 85 EUR (around $118). I would call this handset a pretty good offer for those who want to save money and get a stylish device with a touchscreen and a physical keypad. |

Nokia Asha 303(0) Nokia Asha 303 is included in Nokia’s new Asha lineup. This lineup is designed for the low and middle-range feature phone fans. The lineup devices run on Symbian^40 OS, but their version of the OS comes with a list of enhancements and improvements (such as Angry Birds and WhatsApp messaging App), which were missing in earlier versions of the S^40 device series. The Nokia Asha 303 is considered the top model of the new series, coming with a capacitive touchscreen display and a QWERTY keyboard. The manufacturer decided to place the display slightly higher than the keyboard to avoid accidental button presses. The features of the handset include a 1 GHz processor, a 2.6 inch display, Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity. The device also comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera, which is great. The bad thing about the device is that it doesn’t have autofocus. The feature phone is pretty light. The materials used for the device make it not-slippery, thus comfortable to hold. The feature phone comes with N0kia Browser, which allows to use cloud storage capabilities. The handset is the most expensive offer in the entire lineup coming at a price of 115 Euros (around $160). The color options for the handset are Pink, Silver and Blue. The release date of the smartphone is expected to be sometime before the end of the year. |

Nokia Purity Headsets Unveiled(0) We recently talked about Nokia’s partnership with Monster headsets, which was then followed by a similar partnership between HTC and Beat Technology. The purpose of such cooperations is to provide better sound quality and to help manufacturers promote their products. Moreover, partnerships like this work in favor of headset makers, as well. Yesterday at Nokia World 2011 the company announced not only its first Windows Phone-flowered devices, Asha line handsets and special apps, but also the first output of the exclusive long-term partnership between Nokia and Monster, the Purity headsets. These accessories are mainly made to work with Lumia phones, and the colors they come with correspond to the colors of the Lumia smartphones. So the first product is the Purity HD Stereo Headset, which is an over-ear model. It weighs 180 grams (6.35oz) and can be connected to the phone via standard 3.5mm jack. The in-ear Nokia Purity headphones weigh lighter, only 18 grams (0.63oz) and come with an inline volume controller. Both headsets are designed with a taste, and I’m sure they’ll help Lumia line smartphones become popular.

Chatr Wireless Offering Nokia C2-02(0) The Nokia C2-02 was launched back in June together with the Nokia C2-03 and the Nokia C2-06. The device is now offered in Canada from Chatr Wireless. The carrier offers the device contract free. While being a subunit of Rogers carrier, Chatr Wireless has a deal of only $85 for the Nokia C2-02. This is rather cheap even for this entry-level device. The Nokia C2-02 has a sliding alphanumeric keyboard. It kind of resembles the popular Palm Pre. Instead of the QWERTY keyboard, the C2-02 comes with T9. The phone also comes with a 2.6 inch QVGA display, Nokia’s earlier version of Symbian OS, that is S^40, and a 2 megapixel camera. The rest of the specs of the handset include Bluetooth, Facebook and Twitter integration, Nokia browser, video player/recorder and 3.5 mm audio jack. The memory capacities of the handset are also noteworthy: it can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD cards. Those who got interested in the offer, can order the handset online from Chatr carrier’s website. Previously Chatr offered the following Nokia handsets: the Nokia C3, Nokia 2220, Nokia 1661 and Nokia 1616. The Nokia C2-02 also has a name option of ” The Appeal,” which fits the awesome offer from the Canadian carrier. |

Nokia C5-05 and C5-06 appeared on European website of Nokia(0) The Nokia C5-03 is a low-end smartphone launched almost a year ago, and today its two successors appeared on Nokia’s European website. I am speaking about the Nokia C5-05 and the Nokia C5-06. The first phone is also known as the Nokia C5-04, which has been renamed only for Canadian market. Both handsets don’t outstand by their features, but they can become very popular due to their low prices. Though there’s no official announcement on how much the Nokia C5-05 and C5-06 will cost, we tend to think the price tags won’t be more than EURO 120-140. Anyway, regardless of their class, the phones have all the necessary specs — they are packed with a 2MP camera and support for 2G network. Here we must mention the 3G support’s absence is a lack; if the designers ensure such a functionality, it’ll be more accepted by the consumers. However, the devices run Symbian Series 60 and sport a 600MHz processor, 128MB of RAM, 256MB of ROM and a resistive 3.2-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 360×640 pixels. Both handsets come with Bluetooth 2.1, a 3.5mm headphone jack and microUSB for charging. But they don’t have WiFi connectivity support, which is another feature underlining the phone’s category. Well, the phones are ready for launch and though the smartphone market has another direction of progress, there are many consumers ready to buy such budget devices. |

Nokia 603 to be Unveiled at Nokia World(0) A few months ago when Nokia’s future seemed gloomy and geeks didn’t believe in Windows Phone, Nokia announced that before the end of this year it’s going to launch several new Symbian-powered smartphones. During previous months Nokia kept its promise and unveiled 4 awesome handsets absolutely different from other smartphones that are currently rocking. It refers to the Nokia 500, 600, 700 and 701. Each of these handsets is popular for a particular feature — one has the brightest screen, the other one is the thinnest handset in the world, the third ensures the loudest sound performance and so on. Now it seems the fifth smartphone from this line, the Nokia 603 will be unveiled at Nokia World that will take place in London on October 26-27. If we believe in the rumors circling all around, the Nokia 603 will be packed with a 1GHz processor and a 5MP camera with fixed focus on the usual 360×640 resolution. Other than that it’ll be a pentaband device ensuring 14.4Mbps speed and NFC. Though there is no much information about the phone’s features, it’s expected to be a mid-range device at an affordable price. |

Nokia’s Vertu new smartphone leaked(0) Vertu is a respectable brand, but not everyone can afford buying a phone from its lineup. It’s mostly for the newly rich crowd in the Persian Gulf, Russia or China, but it doesn’t mean Vertu-branded handsets can’t be found in other countries. Note that there are Vertu stores in Paris or Beverly Hills. Well, Vertu’s owned by Nokia, though it figures as a separate manufacturer. Moreover, if Nokia’s in chaos, Vertu is on easy street, that’s why Vertu boss Peter Oosting has enlarged the company’s staff. Moreover, Vertu’s decided to come up with a smartphone different from the earlier models. On the whole, Vertu has been experiencing “high double-digit sales growth” since 2010, which means it has sold about 30.000 devices. Considering the fact the average price of a Vertu handset is $5800, it’s not difficult to count how much the company has earned. By the way, the most expensive phones of Vertu are the Signature line devices with $17.000 price tag. But all those devices draw attention with their stylish and luxury design, and not by their functionality. But with the introduction of the revolutionary smartphone, the Vertu Constellation T, everything’s changed. The Vertu Constellation T sports a 3.5-inch AMOLED, 32GB of internal memory, an 8MP camera with dual-LED flash and so on. Of course, it’s a bit difficult to classify the phone as a high-end device, but it is in the Vertu line. The Constellation T is not from the Signature line, so I guess the phone will cost cheaper. As soon as new details about the pricing and the launch date are available, I’ll keep you informed. |

Nokia N9 Shipping Started(0) The Nokia N9 is the only MeeGo-powered smartphone manufactured by Nokia. Though many countries are out of the list where this awesome device will be launched, some other countries are waiting for their turn to get it. There is no need to list them because the Nokia N9 has a very strange geography. Anyway, yesterday the Finnish company started shipping the phone. The Nokia N9 does not look like any other device both in terms of software and design. We have already mentioned that the Nokia N9 is a buttonless smartphone, which is one of the main advantages of the MeeGo platform. In this sense Nokia’s new experimental mobile operating system doesn’t yield to Android or iOS. Moreover, the Nokia N9 looks quite attractive — though appearance is a matter of taste, we have to agree this smartphone outstands in the crowd. Because of these two features — MeeGo and nice appearance — the company has set rather high prices for the Nokia N9 — 480-560 euros ($650-755). While many of you are criticizing Nokia, others are receiving this perfect handset and enjoying it. If you are unfamiliar with its features, I’ll recommend you to get acquainted with the Nokia N9’s specs list in our Nokia N9 Preview post. |

Nokia N9 Video Ad(0) Are you an Android lover, or do you think the iPhone is the best, or do you own a smartphone running Windows Phone or Symbian? Whatever your preferences are, you have to know there is another mobile operating system starting its way in the cruel world of tech, MeeGo. MeeGo? Yeah! And there is also a new smartphone running MeeGo 1.2 Harmattan, the Nokia N9. I won’t talk about the features coming with the phone, or about the advantages this platform offers, because it is a matter of taste. But you should know the Nokia N9 is a buttonless device and looks quite attractive. I want to remind you that Android-packed handsets will lack buttons only in Ice Cream Sandwich. iOS has buttons on the screen, too, and though it’s only one button, it obviously affects the design. Design — the Nokia N9 has a charm, I can say it for sure. Well, the design is the main thing the designers have focused on, so remember the following words: Slim… Bold… Sleek… Awesome… Different… Original… Vibrant… All they are about one phone — the Nokia N9.

First App for Nokia WP Devices Ready(0) We are still waiting for the first Nokia Windows Phone device to hit the stores of the popular carriers. And though the devices are not announced yet, the first applications for those devices are already available. Espoo has managed to publish information about the first Nokia WP application! The new application is called “App Highlights.” It allows to have a quick access to different WP applications serving as an aggregator. And it’s obvious from the description of the application mentioning that it helps to find “the latest and hottest applications.” The app is going to include not only blank applications but various features connected with the applications, such as the possible update packages, content and description of the applications, most wanted list for the apps in local and global market.
