Today Nokia and Microsoft signed the definitive agreement for strategic partnership ahead of schedule. Specialists think this partnership will have a significant impact on the mobile industry.

“After 10 weeks of intense collaboration, we are pleased to report that Nokia and Microsoft have signed the definitive agreement for our strategic partnership to build a new global mobile ecosystem that is unlike any other,” Nokia’s Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer Kai Oistamo and Microsoft’s Mobile Communication Business President Andy Lees wrote in a joint blog post.

It didn’t take the two companies much time to come to the agreement after their joint announcement made on February 11. Both sides think it’s a good sign and “a perfect example of our commitment to our partnership and the speed at which we plan to move together.”

Nokia and Microsoft also said there is a significant progress on Nokia’s first Windows Phone 7-based device development, and Nokia is already working on the services and applications that will operate on that device. Besides, the companies are already working on Nokia’s roadmap for 2012.
