Amid controversial discussions on how well the Nokia Lumia 800 is selling in Europe, some Nokia Lumia 800 owners have already complained of battery issues existing in their dear smartphone. Nokia is not the company now to deny the issue as it proved its reliability by admitting there is such a problem in some Nokia Lumia 800 handsets, but the matter is not in the hardware structure of the device, but that in several handsets a software bug hinders phone’s ability to use the battery’s full capacity.

Nokia stressed there is no such an issue in the newly launched Nokia Lumia 710 and the company is going to roll out a software update, which will completely solve the battery issue. The fix will be available in early 2012 and will include some other performance improvements as well. The company announced that those Lumia 800 users who cannot wait until the beginning of next year, can turn to Nokia and the company will arrange a replacement. And for those who are unsure whether their phone is affected by this problem, the company has released a set of instructions on how to check this. You have to dial ##634# to open a diagnostic tool, accept the Disclaimer and then select Battery Status option. If in the full charge the phone shows below 1000 mAh capacity, then the device is also affected by this software issue.
Meanwhile, Nokia also provided Lumia 800 users with tips on how to increase battery life span, such as switching off the WiFi and Bluetooth when not needed, selecting Battery Saver option from the Settings menu and so on.
