Nokia Applies for Self Charging Phone Patent

Posted by nokiamania On March - 9 - 2010

While Samsung is focusing on solar energy, the invention of the Finnish giant Nokia is called “The Collector piezoelectric kinetic energy”. At the heart of the development is the principle of the conclusion of mobile phone elements to a separate frame, insulated from the second frame of the piezoelectric elements.

Generated by the motion of the phone kinetic energy is converted into electricity through the piezoelectric effect, capable of  ”partially recharge the battery of the device”. Nokia offers to place relatively heavy elements such as radio chips and the battery itself in the frame, which moves on two runners. At the ends of the latter are piezoelectric, upon application of pressure to which the portion of electricity is produced and accumulates in the condenser.

The idea is very simple and is reminiscent of that which is implemented in a wristwatch activated with swinging gait. The battery can be recharged, for example, in the case of turning the phone to different directions or even his regular rotation if it is necessary for it to be placed in landscape or portrait orientation of the screen in the touch devices.
