The Nokia Astound, which is also known as the Nokia C7, was announced in March at CTIA 2011. Now the smartphone is going to be launched via Videotron in Canada.

It’s not the next Symbian^3 smartphone of the company as we thought. The handset is really classified as a mid-range smartphone, but unlike other Symbian-powered devices it runs an updated version of the operating system with a faster browser, a Swype keyboard in portrait mode and other improvements.

The smartphone also has an 8Mp camera with video recording capabilities at 720p, a secondary VGA camera, 8GB internal memory and a microSD card slot. It also has a 3.5 inch touchscreen, 256 MB RAM and 1200 mAh battery. You’re the one to decide whether it can replace your current handset, but there is one feature that can probably make you choose in favor of it — the Nokia C7 supports NFC.

No additional information is given for the deals of the Nokia C7, but we think the deals will be nearly the same as with the Wind. The SIM-free version of the Wind is sold for $350.
