It seems, the Nokia E7 is getting the crown from the Nokia N8, and it doesn’t need a 12MP camera for this deal. Its super features are quite enough to win all prizes, though some of them could interfere it, I mean its processor and Symbian^3 operating system. But if the first one has something to find fault, Symbian has got an update called Anna that proves this platform will still show itself. Anyway, I don’t want to talk about E7’s advantages, but want to introduce you the way it has passed to reach here.

Recently surfing over the net I stumbled at an interesting post comparing the Nokia E7 and Psion Series 5mx. At first sight they are incomparable, but this can clearly show how the times are changed and what a huge work Nokia has done during the last years not forgetting the roots.

Both phones have the same form factor, but you guess the difference is obvious. Look at the picture below and note how attractive and comfortable the Nokia E7 looks. Even with a naked eye we can see the difference between the sizes, but aside it there are many similarities between the two designs—they open in a same way and the screens stand at the same angle that is the most comfortable position for working. Plus, both phones sport a full hardware QWERTY keyboard.

These two features make users to have a feel of a PDA or minicomputer when they hold any of these devices. So we can assume the Nokia E7 is the “tuning” version of the Psion Series 5mx and many features come through genes.
There are a lot of changes, so it is senseless to deepen in the software comparison. Moreover, they have got different goals, so it is clear why the applications will be different too. It’s nice to see the Nokia E7, which is one of the most respected devices in the world, is similar in many aspects to its ancestors.
