Nokia 5800 smartphone has become one of the most sold touchphone models in 2009.
The sales of mobile devices with touch screen continue to increase. The leadership of this technology no longer belongs to Apple, but Nokia. In 2009, the Finnish company sold 4071% more sensory smartphones than a year earlier and almost caught up with the number of devices sold by the Steve Jobs company.

In 2009, the sales of smart phones set a new record – 166 million units; for the first time more than half of them (55%) were equipped with touch controls. Touchphone sales for the year increased by 109%, to 75 million, while the overall increase in the smartphone market is 41%. This is stated in the report of Canalys analyst firm.

Even more interesting looks the distribution of touch phones by manufacturers. It turns out that the main part of the growth belongs to the Finnish Nokia, which for the year increased its sales by 4071% (!): In 2008 the company sold nearly half a million touchphones, and in 2009 about 22.4 million. Only Apple has higher rate – last year, the Steve Jobs company has released 25 million “applephones”.
