The Finnish company Nokia has developed a new technology which is designed to save users from having to charge mobile phones or smartphones. The battery will be charged if you carry the phone in your pocket or just twist it in your hands.
This design allows the device to charge the battery on a continuous basis on the account of the surrounding radio waves or kinetic energy, which is then transformed into electricity.
According to some sources, the scheme of the generator looks like that the relatively heavy components of the phone (battery, radiotransmitter) are placed on a solid frame which will allow to move in two sets of rails – up and down or left and right.
Piezoelectric crystals are located at the end of each track and generate electricity when you press the frame. Even minor vibrations or movements of the device are enough for gaining energy.
This device works on the same principle, which is used in wrist watches, when the energy which is necessary for the work of the watch is generated when you move it around in space. In addition, the phones will be able to capture the energy of the scattered waves in space, regardless of their source, no difference whether it would be a microwave or a laptop.
The company has already filed a patent application to the appropriate bureau of the USA. Nothing has been reported on the dates of release of this technology yet..
