The much awaited Nokia Lumia 900 was announced for AT&T at CES 2012. On the whole, we heard what we expected and what was assumed. We met a high-end smartphone with high-class features sure to blow up the US market. It’s definitely not the most powerful one, but it’s packed with a number of attractive features and apps, which will undoubtedly make a stir around it.

The Lumia 900 has many common lineaments with its junior Doppelganger, the Lumia 800, though the latter has different dimensions (127.8×68.5×11.5 mm) and weighs 160 grams. The Lumia 900 will be available in black and cyan colors, but hopefully the color arrangement will be enlarged in future.

As for the key features, it sports a 4.3-inch WVGA AMOLED display with ClearBlack technology, a 1.4GHz Snapdragon APQ8055 chipset, 16GB of internal memory and an 1830mAh battery providing up to 7 hours of talk time in 3G. One of the distinguishing moments of the Nokia Lumia 900’s specs list is its 8MP camera powered with f2.2/28mm lens designed by Carl Zeiss optics. It also sports a tech called “double wide mode,” which is a good tool for extra scene width going into your frame. But it lacks Full HD video recording ability as the designers left it on 720p with 30fps. Unlike its predecessors, the Lumia 900 comes with a front facing camera, which works perfect with Tango video calling app.

As Nokia and Microsoft are going to organize a $200 million campaign, many additional features and apps are expected on the phone. So it is! The buyers can also find a CNN app with iReport capabilities, and due to a partnership agreement with Electronic Arts you can get 20 notable game titles. The US owners of the Lumia 900 will get an exclusive Univision app bringing unique Spanish-language content experiences including entertainment, sports and soccer coverage, news, cooking and local content. Plus, users can find such Lumia 800 apps as Nokia Drive for free offline navigation with voice guidance worldwide, Nokia Music, ESPN and Sesame Street apps.

As this is the first official announcement we have no pricing details. In most probability we’ll learn about them in coming weeks.
