Just a couple of days ago Nokia unveiled its new flagship, the Nokia N9, which is the first device running MeeGo 1.2 Harmattan. Of course, it is something new, and I am sure there are many people who want to get a closer look at its UI. Here we are! Nokia’s Marketing Manager Jussi Mäkinen introduces the newly announced Nokia N9.

The phone is a “buttonless” handset with the new swipe technology that brings the touch-system to a new level. The smartphone needs double tap to unlock the screen, where we see a homescreen image chosen by users. Then we just have to swipe it to open the app list.

There is not much to say, better watch the video. I just want to say the phone is equipped with an NFC-enabled Angry Birds Magic and many other goodies. You know one of the most attractive features is the battery that provides:

Talk time: (GSM/WCDMA) up to 11 h / up to 7 hours
Standby time: Up to 450 hours (WCDMA), up to 380 hours (GSM)
Video playback (720P): up to 4.5 hours
Music playback: up to 50 hours

Other features are also amazing, but we have already discussed them earlier, and I think those who were against Nokia because of Symbian OS now won’t have any real reason to criticize the Nokia N9 as MeeGo shows many features not seen in any other smartphone, though there doesn’t seem to be full Adobe Flash support in the browser for now. I think you understand it is a trifle and this issue will be solved before its launch.
