The German website mobiFlip writes that the Nokia N9 is not going to be distributed in Germany. This is already the third major location after the U.S. and the UK where the sales of the handset are cancelled. The reason for this is that Nokia is planning to release its Windows Phone handset in these locations and doesn’t want people’s attention shifted to a MeeGo device.

So let’s say that the global launch of the Nokia N9 is not going to be that global. Nokia CEO even announced that even if the Nokia N9 turns into a hit for the manufacturer, they are not planning to release any other MeeGo handsets. However, the Nokia N9 will still get all of the required updates right after the release. The handset that has no keys on the display is going to support touchscreen gestures. So let’s believe that this handset will not be among those problematic touchscreen devices, which do not function normally.

MobiFlip also spreads light over a few more territories, where the handset will not be made available. Those are Austria and Switzerland.

What if the WP lineup will not be as successful as expected? Will Nokia go back and make the N9 available for those regions?
