Yesterday Nokia introduced its luxury phone called the Oro. We have already talked about it earlier, and we already know it costs $1635.

It’s not the first time when Nokia launches luxury handsets; I guess you’ve already heard about the Vertu line with its attractive phones for those who are ready to pay a fortune for getting eye-catching devices.

Anyway, this one is quite different from others; the Nokia Oro is made of 18-carat gold, hand-wrapped leather and sapphire crystal. In software aspect the Oro sports the same feature we have seen in the Nokia Astound: A 3.5-inch AMOLED display, an 8MP camera, 8GB internal memory, 680MHz processor and the updated version of Symbian^3 operating system called Anna.

First we told the Nokia Oro will be launched in Russia, but now it became clear there are many consumers interested in it and the company decided to release it in many European countries, including China and the Middle East.

According to the last news, the Nokia Oro will be launched in the third quarter and will cost 800 EUR ($1125), though we heard another, more expensive price earlier.

P.S. The video below is made to demonstrate the Oro, and Alessandro Lamanna’s presence in it shows the phone is very important for Nokia. It is a good marketing campaign because we don’t see Nokia’s Vice President of Marketing every day in such videos.
