The deal between Nokia and Microsoft divided the geeks into two armies — one of them believes this cooperation will grow and deepen its roots, the other think it has no future and will be over soon. People began to make assumptions based on their intuition. Russian tech analyst Eldar Murtazin, for example, posted a statement according which Nokia’s deal with Microsoft will end before the end of 2011.

It’s a little unbelievable as recently it was announced that Nokia’s deal with Microsoft is gaining momentum, and soon we will see Nokia’s Windows Phone 7 handsets on the market. Anyway, Murtazin is sure the deal will be over; look what he says:
“Next week Nokia will start the negotiations about the sale of its phone unit to Microsoft. For now the results of the negotiations won’t be public, but the deal might close before the end of 2011. Both companies are in a big hurry.”
Of course, you can assume from his words the deal is not over and just gets another view. This can also make some people think Stephen Elop was sent to Nokia to destroy it from inside. I guess this time it’ll be nice to know whether Nokia has answered to this accusation, and it has! Nokia PR team replied via its Twitter page:
“We normally don’t comment on rumors as you know, but we have to say that Eldar’s rumors are obviously getting less accurate with every passing moment.”
And though some sources think it’ll be better to give a certain answer, something like “We are not in any negotiations about the sale of the company and do not have any plans to enter into one,” I think the activity of these companies will say more and I am almost sure we’ll see the first results of their cooperation soon.
