Nokia WP-powered smartphones are real, and there’s no doubt in this. We have heard that Nokia is already testing some smartphones based on Microsoft’s platform, and there are rumors that the Finnish company will launch many WP-based devices this year, but no exact launch dates are announced.
Later we learned the first Nokia handset running Windows phone will be launched in Q4. Nokia Europe’s VP Victor Saeijs announced Nokia will release the first smartphones with this operating system in six European countries, namely in the Netherlands, France, Germany, UK, Spain and Italy.

Of course, other countries will be included in the list later, and we hope the U.S. will be among them. By the way, the United States is not the only one that didn’t get confirmation — Finland is also absent in the list. I can’t say what is the main reason for making such a decision, but probably it is conditioned by the Android and iOS dominance in the U.S., and it’ll be difficult to burst in this market with “non-tested” devices.
However, we can assume only one thing from this statement — nevertheless, Nokia will launch Windows Phone handsets this year.
