It is known that the Finnish phone giant Nokia has suffered a complete failure in the American smartphone market. Sales of “smart phones” under this brand in the U.S. are simply of ridiculous quantity, especially compared with the rest of the world where Nokia is a leader. It is sufficient to say that overall sales of Nokia last year reached 329 million mobile devices while in U.S. the brand is not familiar for the common customers.
But Nokia is not going to change this situation and prepares a very unexpected way of dealing with this situation. According to the head of the Finnish company Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, Nokia in cooperation with Microsoft plans to release a smartphone based on Windows Phone 7 Series operating system. The exact date of this release is not known, however, it is mentioned that such a device can appear next year. In addition, the fruit of cooperation between the two IT corporations should be the porting of existing business applications from Microsoft into the Nokia smartphones.
