Since the announcement of the Nokia Morph concept mobile phone has passed almost two years, it turns out, that the Finnish manufacturer has not forgotten about it and continues to develop it. This is evidenced by a patent, found in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
The patent is known as “User interface, device and method for a physically flexible device”. It describes a flexible mobile device, its user interface, as well as methods of management. For example, it is enough to bend the device in the ring and its display will show the address of the nearest bars, but if you give the device the shape of a plate, it will show the nearest restaurants. The device will be able to respond to the folds and creases to recognize the speed and angle, which opens up new possibilities in the management of mobile devices.
Even taking into account the fact that the flexible touch screens already exist, do not hope that Nokia Morph concept will be implemented in the near future.
