Nokia 808 PureView Video Teaser Nokia 808 PureView Video Teaser(0)

Nokia promises to surprise its fans at MWC 2012 not only with the launch of the newest Lumia lineup models, but also with the Nokia 808 PureView. Nokia 808 PureView is the rumored follow-up of the Nokia N8 coming with a more powerful camera. The recent video is enough to conclude it will be a wonderful handset with most accurate video recording capabilities so far offered by the manufacturer.

The camera of the upcoming smartphone is described by terms like pure detail, pure depth and pure definition. We still don’t know about the camera’s megapixel solution, but it will definitely record 1080p videos. The main guess is a 12 megapixel camera, though it might end up having a more powerful shooter.

So are you ready to “catch a pure view?”

Next to these high-end models Nokia will also launch low-end S40 based devices of Asha series. Interestingly, these models are already available in various third world countries.

Ultimately, Nokia does its best to come to the top, and the fact it’s this much talked about I’d say everywhere in the world, including social sites and blogs like TechPatio, serves as a hope it will in the end make it. As for now, we look forward to MWC.

Nokia Lumia 610 on Benchmark Test with WP Tango Onboard Nokia Lumia 610 on Benchmark Test with WP Tango Onboard(0)

We are expecting to have the Nokia Lumia 610 launched at MWC 2012. This handset will be the cheapest Lumia lineup model, despite the fact it comes with WP Tango. Do yo doubt it? Have a look at the Benchmark test pic, which shows it running 8757 built (the current models have a built of 8107).

The info was leaked from WPBench app, and though we can’t be totally sure of its trustworthiness, there are a few factors giving us a reason to trust it. Firstly, WP Tango can support lower resolution screens, so the manufacturer will be able to save on the display. Then we have a chance of quick web browsing and overall system functionality even with 256MB of RAM. This is another money saving spot.

All this will directly influence the price of the model, making it cheaper. Most likely, that’s one of the reasons why Nokia decided to come up with a model even cheaper than the Lumia 710.

On the whole, WP Tango allows full WP experience with not that outstanding features. The current models are also rumored to get WP Tango updates, though the timing of this process is not yet announced.

Nokia Siemens Networks to Announce More Flexible 4G HSPA+ at MWC 2012 Nokia Siemens Networks to Announce More Flexible 4G HSPA+ at MWC 2012(0)

Nokia and Siemens merged their phone network businesses to become the biggest multinational data networking and telecommunications equipment company. Both companies seem to have succeeded, as the joint venture between Nokia of Finland and Siemens of Germany is the most popular one in the world and any decision made inside the company affects the entire tech world. Now that Nokia Siemens Networks has announced Multiflow (a new technology for HSPA+ networks), imagine how the world will be changed.

Multiflow promises to offer data speeds, which will be twice as fast and 50 percent more responsive than today’s networks. The secret is in pulling down data from two different towers instantaneously. Thus the handsets will completely use network opportunities and double data throughput to devices. The technology is expected to be available in the second half of 2013.

Seems Nokia Corporation is making changes not only in the traditions of making smartphones, but in other areas as well. On the other hand, the changes are not acceptable by everyone, I mean the latest announcement NSN will fire 4000 employees making up the number of fired people 17,000.

Nokia Lumia 719 Listed in Bluetooth SIG Nokia Lumia 719 Listed in Bluetooth SIG(0)

We had the Nokia Lumia 610 leaked, and now we have another not less interesting leak representing the same Lumia lineup — the Nokia Lumia 719. The name itself suggests that most of the handset specs be similar to those of Lumia 710.

The novelty was leaked in Bluetooth SIG. It’s designed for Asian, North and South American markets. Well, if Asian and South American markets seem reasonable, the North American market causes various questions, just because we already have the Lumia 710 available in this territory!

The handset is expected to come with a full list of social networking integration, including Twitter, Facebook and People Hub. The smartphone features a 3.7-inch ClearBlack display and a 5 megapixel rear camera with HD video recording capabilities.

As for the specs lacking on the Lumia 710, we have an exclusive content from ESPN, Univision, Local Scout and Bing Search.

There is only little likelihood the smartphone will be launched at MWC 2012 as obviously, the attention will be more focused on the heroes of the event — the international version of the  Lumia 900 and the low-end Lumia 610.

Nokia Carla Coming to All Symbian^3 Devices in Q4, 2012 Nokia Carla Coming to All Symbian^3 Devices in Q4, 2012(0)

A developer presentation held in Mexico was not interesting for us until a picture leaked showing some speculations on Carla and Donna.

As you know Nokia calls the Symbian updates with female names. Recently it dropped the Symbian moniker and the second update was named Nokia Belle. So let’s call them Nokia Carla and Nokia Donna.

As I said they were spotted in a picture. The source translated the text in the slide and it looks as follows:

Carla will have major improvements, NFC, Dolby surround, New improved Widgets, Improved Browser (Version 8). Also Carla is supposed to come in late 2012 or early 2013.

I am sure there will be many other enhancements and changes, because Nokia improves its native operating system from update to update. The same happened with Symbian Anna, which changed people’s attitude towards Symbian platform. Afterwards, Nokia Belle appeared and brought more improvements. Now the manufacturer can be proud of its product and though it has announced Symbian OS will be supported till 2016, I am almost sure its thread of life won’t be cut on that mentioned date.

Nokia Lumia 610 in UK Soon Nokia Lumia 610 in UK Soon(0)

The Lumia 610 device is expected to get launched next week at MWC 2012 in Barcelona. The handset is rumored to be launched in the UK as a prepaid phone sporting Windows Phone Tango, which is still a not-announced update of WP Mango. This OS allows using devices with only 256 MB of RAM and small resolution displays, therefore the handset, which will be the cheapest Lumia model, will not have outstanding display or RAM specs. In contrast, WP Tango allows having more powerful cameras.

As for the connectivity, we have dual band GSM/EDGE, 2100 MHz 3G and Wi-Fi. The connectivity causes basic deviation of the rule if compared with the rest of Lumia models, which sport quad band GSM/EDGE and quad band 3G networks.

The price of the handset is still not announced, but it won’t be high, for sure. We currently have the Lumia 710′s price lowered to 200 GBP (around $315), so in this regard, the Lumia 610 price will be below that. I believe as a low-end device it will be a great one.

Nokia Lumia 800 Bundle Available at Microsoft Online Stores Nokia Lumia 800 Bundle Available at Microsoft Online Stores(0)

Nokia Lumia 800 bundles are available at all Microsoft stores located in the US. Still, as there are only 16 stores the bundle comes as a rear accessory package. Microsoft is aware of this problem, so it has worked out a new recruitment plan for potential customers. From now on the bundles will be offered by the company’s online stores as well.

The Lumia 800 bundle comes online at  $899.99, including free shipping. The bundle comes in two colors only (magenta and black); I kind of feel sorry for the cyan model lovers.

The bundle contains unlocked Lumia 800 device, Nokia Purity HD stereo headphones by Monster, Nokia Play 360° wireless Bluetooth speaker and Nokia Luna Bluetooth headset.

You will get the device attached either to AT&T or to T-Mobile networks. The price will obviously be reduced once the Nokia Lumia 900 is launched — this should be good news for those who do not want to pay this amount. But we should not forget that the price is great for the unlocked device, which you will get with a bunch of cool accessories. Besides, isn’t it great to have it delivered straight to your place without any additional payment?

Nokia Lumia Handsets at Australian Optus and VirginMobile in March Nokia Lumia Handsets at Australian Optus and VirginMobile in March(0)

March will be marked with the launch of the Nokia Lumia 800 and 710 in Australia. Australian Optus offers a wide range of data plans varying between $19-$79. The carrier promises to deliver your unit on March 1 if you pre-order it until February 26, otherwise you will have it after March 1.

Optus is not the only carrier to offer the smartphones. VirginMobile is currently getting pre-orders for the Lumia 710, but it doesn’t mention data plans or launch date. However, this carrier has an attractive campaign. It says select Nokia partners in Australia will have the unlocked version of the Lumia 710 available in March. These models will be compatible with Telstra’s and Vodafone’s 3G networks.

All in all, Australia could be in a more successful position, if as rumored Nokia launched the white variant of the Lumia 800 in this country first.

Nokia Lumia 800 Bestseller at Orange Austria Nokia Lumia 800 Bestseller at Orange Austria(0)

The Nokia Lumia 800 turned into a bestseller at Austrian mobile operator Orange Austria as well. The operator launched the handset back in December, but it was made available only in January.

The number of units delivered to Austria is not announced, so we have no idea regarding the sales number. One thing that guaranteed the success of this phone in this country is the low price. At the moment the handset can be purchased with the same price tag as the HTC Sensation, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray and the Blackberry Bold 9900. It’s also cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy S II and the iPhone 4S, which are currently two of the main competitors of the handset.

Among other places where the handset was turned into a bestseller we have Three and O2 in UK and TDC in Denmark.

The Nokia Lumia 800 comes with a 3.7 inch AMOLED ClearBlack display protected by Gorilla Glass, a 1.4 GHz processor, an 8 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, 512 MB of RAM, and 16 GB of internal memory and a 1450mAh battery.

Nokia Pulse to Come to Android and iOS Nokia Pulse to Come to Android and iOS(0)

Nokia not only produces smartphones, but also software and apps. All in all, Nokia was established as a paper company, and those who judge about Nokia focusing on its fails and only, I have to remind this company is everywhere and in every area of our life. If you don’t believe, I’ll recommend that you recall the first phone you had or the apps you use every day. If my words don’t persuade you, the novelty I am going to introduce to you, will entirely change your attitude. Nokia Pulse known as the social service of Nokia products will be launched for Android and iOS.

As Nokia says, Nokia Pulse is the new way to check in. This app is deeply integrated with Nokia Maps. Besides sharing statuses, photos and links within your close groups, you can also share locations. When the company launched this social app for the MeeGo-based Nokia N9, we wrote an interesting post on it. You can check it out for detailed information.

As for Android and iOS, MeeGo’s example clearly shows it’s not hard for Nokia to create Nokia Pulse for other platforms. I think the company is on the right track, because if it’s something social, it must be available for everyone and work on any platform.
