T-Mobile is responding to the claims against the high price of the Nokia Lumia 710. Now the price of the WP device is cut by 20 percent, thus it comes at $39.99 (after a $50 rebate) with a two-year agreement.

I believe the price was cut just because T-Mobile expects to get a more attractive device from Mobile World Congress 2012. Most likely the carrier’s follow up WP device will be the Lumia 900, but there are rumors it might end up being the 12 megapixel Lumia 910 (for this option the carrier will be required to wait until the second quarter of the year).

So what should you expect from a device coming at $39.99? Well, definitely something more than for mid-range devices. The Lumia 710 comes with a 3.7-inch display with WVGA resolution, a 1.4GHz single-core Qualcomm MSM8255 processor, a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and the possibility of shooting 720p videos. In addition, there are 512MB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage capabilities.

Finally the device has every chance to turn into a best-seller as a mid-range Nokia device.
