Dual-SIM Nokia C2-03 and Nokia Asha 200 Ads

by Argam - on Dec 6th 2011 - 1 Comment

Nokia started offering dual SIM card handsets only this year, while for most manufacturers this has been a trend for a few years now. The main reason for this was the tight cooperation with a large number of specific carriers and mobile operators. The manufacturer assumed the companies would not favor the idea of offering a device also using a SIM card of another carrier.

So far there are three mid-range devices coming with Dual-SIM cards — the Nokia X2-02 (not available yet), the Nokia C2-03 and the Nokia Asha 200. Among the low-end handsets we have the Nokia 101.

The Nokia Asha 200 comes with a QWERTY keyboard, great internet integration and social networking capabilities. The Nokia C2-03 is a slider coming with a 2 megapixel camera and an easy Swipe SIM technology.

The advertisement campaign designed for dual SIM card handsets is something new. They are targeting mainly at the non-European segment of the customers and will be shown in Philippines, India, Nigeria and Brazil.  This time the ads are more colorful, they fully support the idea of a complete plot and after all, they are really hilarious.

Nokia X2-02 Dual-SIM Low-End Device Announced

by Argam - on Dec 2nd 2011 - No Comments

Nokia has just fulfilled its feature lineup devices with the Nokia X2-02. The handset comes with the S40 UI and has a major attention grabber — the price.

Like the previous low-end Nokia 101, the novelty will feature dual-SIM cards. To make the SIM cards even more comfortable in usage the manufacturer offers SIM manager app. It allows to have a quick switch between the SIM cards and to limit the functionality of one of the SIM cards.

The Nokia X2-02 features a small 2.2-inch LCD display with 240×320 QVGA resolution, a 2 megapixel camera, FM radio receiver and transmitter. The memory capabilities of the handset are pretty impressive. You get a chance to use microSD cards for memory expansion up to 32GB.

The same ideal picture is missing when talking about the connectivity of the device. The Nokia X2-02 lacks both 3G and Wi-Fi, thus the users will be required to stay satisfied with EDGE connectivity. The battery of the device allows to have around 9.7 hours of talk time.

The handset comes with four attractive colors: Bright Red, Dark Silver, Ocean Blue and Violet.

The device is expected to be available at the price of 60 Euros (around $81). The release date and the location of the handset are not announced yet.

Nokia C2-06 Dual-SIM Phone

by Argam - on Jun 13th 2011 - No Comments

Recently Nokia’s mid-range handsets were ignored by geeks — they were all probably busy discussing Nokia’s cooperation with Microsoft оr “selling” it to the same Microsoft and even to Samsung. However, Nokia is a toughie and if its business is not so good in the West, it doesn’t mean Nokia has lost its popularity in the countries with low income, too. I can prove my words introducing the next dual-SIM device of the company, the Nokia C2-06 Touch and Type.

Like the previously announced Nokia C2-00 and the X1-01, this one doesn’t have any awesome features — only a 3-inch TFT QVGA display, a 2MP camera on the back, a QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth, FM Radio, EDGE/GPRS and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

Unlike the above mentioned handsets, the Nokia C2-06 Touch and Type comes in another form factor that reminds us the past times when mobile manufacturers filled the market with similar devices and they were very popular.

I think this handset can be ignored by those who prefer “smarter” and “nimbler” phones, but do not forget there are many other users who have lower incomes and can’t get more expensive devices. So the Nokia C2-06 is a perfect choice for them, plus it is a dual-SIM phone, and we can’t find such functionality in any high-end smartphone.

Nokia C2-00 Dual-SIM Handset

by Argam - on May 25th 2011 - No Comments

Parallel to its main strategy, which is aimed at pulling out Nokia from the current difficult situation, the company continues to manufacture feature phones. Often such handsets are out of people’s attention, but they are actually very good, too. One of such devices was introduced a couple of days ago – the Nokia X1-01, now it’s the Nokia C2-00’s show time.

The Nokia C2-00 is a dual-SIM handset with a number of useful features. Among them I can mention the S40 UI, the VGA camera, the built-in web-browser and Nokia Messaging. There isn’t much to tell about such phones, so I guess I should just mention its price, which is very attractive — only €45 (about $63).

According to the initial information, the Nokia C2-00 will be launched this quarter in several markets, including the African and Asian countries where Nokia is doing what its slogan says – connecting people. I guess no one thinks this handset will be shipped to Europe and the U.S., as people in there are waiting for another products of Nokia — the WP7-powered handsets.

Dual-SIM Nokia C2-06 Soon in India

by Argam - on Apr 20th 2011 - No Comments

The Indian market has long been one of the best markets for the leading manufacturers including Nokia. Here the carrier is planning to introduce another dual SIM card smartphone. The device is not going to be a high-end one, as it was expected to be. Instead of it, the device will be a simple S40 and will most likely launch with Touch and Type branding.

The device will be called C2-06. It will be equipped with a resistive touchscreen display; we don’t know about its resolution yet, but we guess it won’t be that high. It’s interesting that when the device is closed it looks like some of the models of the C5 series (like the C5-03 or the C5-04). But when you open the device you get disappointed. The gadget is equipped with a typical alphanumeric keyboard instead of the desired QWERTY. Well, anyway, you shouldn’t expect too much from a middle device.

One of the features of the device is the 2 megapixel camera, which actually gives a chance of taking not that bad pics.

Surely, the main point that will be played on is the idea of having two SIM cards. So to make the device even more attractive, the manufacturer will most likely release it with a low, affordable price.

The connectivity of the device is poor. The gadget doesn’t support 3G and, unfortunately, not even Wi-Fi. The leaked pics of the device are made somewhere in India, do we have no idea about the carrier of the gadget and the release location.

Futuristic Nokia E97 Envelope Concept Phone

by L.K. - on Nov 1st 2010 - No Comments

When I look at the E97 Envelop concept phone from Nokia, I got convinced that a man’s imagination has no boundaries.
The Nokia E97 Envelop is definitely designed to impress. How nice it is to see a new Nokia concept phone, even if the mobile phone is  not materialized by the company itself, but thanks to all the talented people it become possible to imagine what a Nokia phone in the future might look like.

Maybe the new Nokia phone will never look as attractive as this concept, but in any case, it’s great to see how this concept might look like a mobile phone in our hands!
Nokia E97 Envelop is incredibly stylish concept phone. The new concept  probably is the most ingenious design interpretation I’ve ever seen. The futuristic design of Nokia E97 Envelop looks as if the Smartphone has arrived from another planet, and it would be very interesting to see how the phone looks like in a real life.
With dark and smoothed edges, the Nokia E97 has a unique liquid crystal screen that comes out of the keyboard and can be removed from the cell, you simply pull the screen like a paper envelope, and the unplugged display can be used as a storage device, a flash drive for example. The smartphone features a AZERTY keyboard.

Plus, the phone works with two SIM cards (sim) simultaneously.

The concept of this mobile with a  pull-out LED display that comes out of a keyboard, and that can be removed from the phone itself was developed by a young student named Fabien Fabien Nauroy (France) and he called this phone E97 Envelop.

Nokia C1 for the Developing Markets

by L.K. - on Jun 3rd 2010 - No Comments

Recently, an official announcement of the budget mobile phoneof Nokia indexed as C1  took place.

The device has modest technical specifications and a low, affordable price. Externally, the phone is a classic candy bar with a low-key appearance, which boasts the highest duration of work, and the functioning with two SIM-cards. It is known that the manufacturer intends to disseminate new product mainly in countries with developing market.

Specs of Nokia C1 include display with a resolution of 128×160 pixels, a 3,5 mm headphone jack, a flashlight and FM-radio. The dimensions of the device is 107,1 x45x15 mm, with its own weight of 72.9, the only nuance of the phone is that it can not work with two SIM-cards simultaneously.

In order to switch from one SIM-card to another the user has to click a specially assigned button, without having to reboot the mobile device. Perhaps some users will find it cost-effective solution, although by itself it is not a full-fledged Dual-SIM technology.

Price of the Nokia C1 is only 30 euros.
