Nokia Company has announced that it will not produce the 6216 model, equipped with NFC module. Announced in April 2009, the phone was supposed to be the first model with a Near Field Communication, supporting the SWP protocol. Such a solution would allow payment transactions with authorization by special SIM-cards, rather than through a separate module as the NFC in the 6212 Classic model.

Nokia explained its decision by the reluctance of the market to massively use a system of mobile payments. The model was supposed to appear in autumn 2009, but the small number of NFC terminals with SWP put the 6216 release in doubt. Meanwhile, a representative of Nokia, Mark Selby said that the company in no way loses interest in NFC and hopes to further develop this promising technology.

Today we would like to introduce you the concept of a mobile device called Nokia Ovi Orion. This is, in fact, the development of the idea of Nokia N-Gage game smartphone. It was introduced a few years ago, but has not become popular. After that the N-Gage gaming service was established, which can turn a standard Nokia smartphone into a gaming device. But the Ovi Orion concept, nevertheless, is aimed precisely at games. And, of course, it uses the maximum benefits of modern mobile industry. Nokia Ovi Orion is a monoblock with a large touch screen. On the other side it has a QWERTY keyboard with round buttons and a small long screen. It may be convenient for the text correspondence. Modern three-dimensional games with high-end graphics, in their turn, will be displayed on the large screen.Among the characteristics of the device are the 4.3-inch touch screen, powerful CPU and GPU “, accelerometer, HSDPA, Wi-Fi and buttons with tactile response. The concept is interesting and this model looks quite effective. Nokia Company has only to release the Ovi Orion for sale.

Previously, the title belonged to the Nokia 1202 tube (its price was 25 Euros), but the new device has broken all the records of the “cheap” products and costs now just for 20 Euros. With its relatively low price Nokia 1280 was equipped with dustproof keyboard of a larger size, large monochrome display with a resolution of 96×68 pixels, built-in flashlight, and FM-radio and alarm clock with talking. In order this inexpensive model device would not seem boring and monotonous for the corresponding LLP, customers would be offered several options for the registration of case colors- (gray, black, pink and blue), and for the interchangeable colored panels which will allow the user by a slight hand movement to change the color of the case. The sales of this unit are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2010

At first, many who have seen this new device were quite objectively suspicious about the authenticity of images, but as soon as the World Wide Web emerged, with its absolutely official presentation, everything has become clearer and more evident. The fact is that the matter in it is not only one particular telephone device, but it has to be dealt with some real and existing models. As it was mentioned above, as well as anything concerning with the non-existing models of the devices, the photos were intended primarily to portray in which directions the firm is planning to move.

Nokia introduced its new product of Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition, which is a true set of complex of entertainments in a compact of 3G device, with the possibilities of mobile TV standard DVB-H, communication in social networks, music and games. Mobile TV Running
Nokia and Nokia Siemens Networks are collaborating with more than 30 operators around the world, contributing to the wide dissemination of mobile TV. Commercial utilization of DVB-H and OMA BCAST networks has already begun in Austria, Finland, Ghana, Kenya, India, Italy, Namibia, Nigeria, the Netherlands, the Philippines and Switzerland. In the next 12-18 months it is expected to launch more networks in more than 20 countries.
“Nokia has supported the development of the DVB-H technology, providing Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition. Next year it is expected to be full of major sporting events, and this is a great opportunity for the operators to create and develop new mobile TV service based on DVB-H. For example, during the 2006 World Cup in Italy, the most successful mobile TV service in Europe was launched “- said Stefan Schneiders, Head of Mobile TV company Nokia Siemens Networks.
“Our company has launched a DVB-H network in Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana and Namibia. We are now actively deploying new networks in a number of African countries. By providing innovative and premium content at an affordable price, as well as low-cost devices that African consumers really need, we have achieved to greater results. The emergence of Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition is of great importance for our company because Nokia has got a good reputation in Africa, providing its consumers with additional incentives of entertainment, sports and news broadcasts on the platforms DStv Mobile “, – said Francois Theron, President of Digital Satellite Television Mobile Company.

“We are delighted by the emergence of the new Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition. It’s a very attractive device, which later on will be a perfect platform for exploring European consumers and operators with high-quality mobile TV. This is what the industry needs to accelerate the proliferation of mobile TV, and we look forward to launching the successful sales of the device in the European markets: as in Finland, Austria, Germany and France “, – said Vincent Greaves (Vincent Grivet), the vice president of Mobile TV TDF (France ).
The represented device reflects Nokia’s commitment to the market development for mobile TV. The networks, content and the devices, designed for the mass consumption are the key ingredients for the growth of the market “, – notes Vincenzo Novari, the president of Hutch 3G (Italy).
“Airtime television standard DVB-H becomes accessible to more people. It has been found out that the key categories contributing to popularization of mobile TV are sports and news in Finland. People wish to follow the development of the events rather than watch the final transfers, when coming back home after their works. Consumers strive for quality service at an affordable price, which is just something that can be given by Nokia 5330 Mobile TV Edition”, – said Erik Sylvestersson, the vice president of sales and marketing for DNA Finland.
The first mobile device of Nokia with the support for DVB-H standard is Nokia N92, submitted in 2005. Among other devices supporting DVB-H are the Nokia N77 and Nokia N96. The SU-33W is used for viewing mobile TV receivers , which may be also used on Nokia N97, Nokia N97 mini, Nokia N86 8MP, Nokia E75, Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and Nokia X6.

The Nokia Company introduced a new version of Qt 4.6 which is a cross-platform tool for software development. The toolkit provides a support for the Symbian platform and Maemo, as well as to some others, by enhancing the functionality of graphical tools and supporting new technologies for entry data by the multi-touch and by using gestures. The developers and the leading companies of the IT-market version of Qt 4.6 Nokia in Russia, represent the III Mobile Software Forum as an industrial significant event which took place in December 10-11 in St. Petersburg. The forum brought together the largest manufacturers of mobile communication devices, platforms, programming for mobile devices, content providers, investors and software developers. Nokia is actively participating in the Forum of December 10, which is a special event day- “ Day of the Developer of Nokia “, where technical seminars and presentations of new solutions and applications are held.
The support of the Qt platforms Symbian and Maemo allows the developers to create applications for both platforms, using a single code base, and, therefore, offer their solutions to a wider audience on more devices. Porting code between platforms will accelerate the process of developing applications prior to their publication. Thus, developers can create sophisticated applications and more effectively disseminate them through the Ovi store, which was launched in Russia this year in May.

“We expect to bring our relations with Russian developers to a new level, making the process of building applications even easier, – said Kirill Zelenski, the manager of the business development in the region of Eurasia from the Nokia forum. Currently over 350 Russian companies and individual developers are already working with Nokia and we are confident enough that this number will grow gradually.
More platforms
New version of Qt 4.6 supports the platforms of Symbian, Windows 7, Apple Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard), as well as of the expected Maemo 6. Community developers will be given the full support while working with the real time operating system QNX and VxWorks.
Updated tools
By the release of the new version of Qt 4.6 followed the updated Qt Creator of the cross-platform IDE for the development under the Qt. The programs of the Qt Creator 1.3 and Qt 4.6 include a single installation package of Qt SDK, which contains all the necessary tools for the creation of the cross-platform applications.
