Angry Birds Unofficially on Series 40 Handsets

by Argam - on Dec 20th 2011 - No Comments

When Finnish Rovio Mobile launched one of its regular games, no one could think it would become the game of millions. You got it, I’m talking about about Angry Birds, which has won the hearts of millions of users. It’s currently the most popular mobile game. Now let’s see on what other handsets besides Android and iOS devices you can now play this game.

It was initially launched for iOS devices, but there are cases when one platform is not enough for progress, so the developer decided to bring it to quickly-spreading Android. Then the game became more and more popular and the developer continued porting it to different platforms, and they all were lucky. Yesterday we reported Angry Birds is already available for the Nokia N9 running MeeGo OS, but looks like it’s not the end as the game is unofficially available for Series 40 handsets. Got surprised?

The porting was made for Asha handsets, which yield many handsets in terms of everything, but now their owners can enjoy Angry Birds and this is a good gift for them. Other than that, Nokia X3-02 users report the ROM works on their devices perfectly.

To play Angry Birds on your Series 40 device is a great chance, but to port it is not that easy. We recommend that you don’t do it if you are a novice user. However, the Angry Birds. Jar is available for download. For more details check out the source link.

Nokia C6 to be the greenest phone

by Argam - on Mar 2nd 2011 - No Comments

According to one of the latest surveys made by Good Guide, 26 of the top 30 greenest models are designed by Nokia. It could be predicted Nokia’s phones will be in leading positions in this term, but I guess no one has expected that about 90% percent of the list would be filled by Nokia.

The laboratory’s scientists have rated 576 phones depending on their health, environmental and social performance. And taking into account these aspects they give scores to the cell phones based on energy efficient chargers, environmentally-preferable materials, green production practices, recycling programs, and other factors.

It is important to mention the Nokia C6 is in the first position, so we can write down the greenest phone in the world is the C6. But the top ten list of the greenest phones is formed by other Nokia phones, below is the list:

  1. Nokia C6
  2. Nokia 6700
  3. Nokia E72
  4. Nokia E5
  5. Nokia X3
  6. Nokia 5530
  7. Nokia x3-02
  8. Nokia E73 Mode
  9. Nokia N8
  10. Nokia C3

On the contrary side is RIM and its 17 phones that finish the list as the lowest rated ones earning 3.3 scores.

Each of 26 Nokia’s phones score scoring 7.7 or 7.6 out of a possible 10 points. Samsung’s Blue Earth phone came in 27th, followed by Motorola’s Citrus and Ecomoto phones and by Palm’s Pixi Smartphone. For comparison, the Apple’s iPhone has earned 5.7 points and Apple earned this score because of its “ethical policies and performance.”

So before critics decide to predict Nokia’s death, I’ll recommend them to take into account this subjects too.

Fashionable Nokia X3 Touch and Type Review

by L.K. - on Oct 28th 2010 - 1 Comment

For most women mobile phone is firstly a fashion accessory and only then it is a smart gadget. Nokia has a very beautiful model – Nokia X3 Touch and Type, and I am sure this cute pink phone is just for you.

Design

The sleek, modern design and slim body with 9.6 mm width, make the Nokia X3 Touch and Type one of the smallest phone among the Nokia’s S40 series devices. The handset has a matte aluminum surface and is available in five colors for every occasion and taste.

From the title you might guess, that it is equipped both with a touch screen and a keyboard, which makes quite an interesting combination. The decision to combine touch-screen display with a mechanical keyboard is quite a good one as there are people who go crazy for touch screen but feel so terribly inconvenient using the virtual keyboard. I think that Nokia X3 is just the thing for them.

Features

The Nokia X3 Touch and Type has a broad set of features. The model is based on the X3 platform S40, and is equipped with a touch screen and keyboard, with huge buttons for hassle-free printing. Neat mobile phone has dimensions of 106.2×48.4×9.6 mm, weighs about 78 grams, is designed to work in GSM, but also supports for WCDMA.  The Nokia X3 Touch and Type sports a 2.4-inch display with a resolution of 240×320 pixels, and captures 5 megapixel camera.

The handset is also equipped with special keys for quick access to music and Ovi postal services, including applications for entertainment and communication. In addition, according to the Mail service Ovi, users can have a direct access to all the mail accounts using Nokia Messaging. A slight touch of the screen and you can go online and get access to many services. I am sure that social browsing will also be a fun on Nokia X3 Touch and Type.

Nokia X3-02 design preview

by Sona - on Oct 22nd 2010 - No Comments

Nokia X3 Type and Touch which is also known as Nokia X3-02 is a phone coming with stylish design and complete functions, plus the price is not expensive. The handset comes with a 2.4 touchscreen and a quirky 4×4 key keyboard, both these features and much more are in a candybar form-factor.

The Nokia X3-02 is as thin phone with dimensions of 106.2×48.4×9.6 mm and weighs 77.4g. The device has a creditable design among similar phones, inspite of its plastic body. It was released in September of this year and judjing from its popularity the launching will last.

The X3-02’s display has a resolution of 240×320 pixels providing a standard viewing experience for an S40 phone. Using this phone we don’t have the same smooth feeling which we have with high end phones’ screens, but the disappointing feature is the absence of brightness control. Nevertheless, the screen is very useful in combination with the keyboard.

The top of the phone is wider than the other parts. Below the display we have four keys – call, messaging, music and end, then come the numeric keys. As the keyboard has a 4X4 arrangement, the “0” and “+” keys don’t sit below the numbers, instead they align on the sides. Probably, this keyboard design is made due to the display, as they come in one combination.

The plastic part of the body comes with a silver color like a metal gun. On the back is a 5MP camera with Nokia’s insignia and a model number.

I guess this is all you have to know about this phone design, and you’ll like it as I do.

Nokia X3-02 Touch and Type plays videos from the USB flash

by Sona - on Oct 13th 2010 - 1 Comment

The Nokia X3-02 is a low-end device, but it has such features that other high-end devices haven’t got. So, the OTG USB functionality allows the handset to play .AVI and .DivX video files straight from the USB flashes. Below is a video introducing how the Nokia X3-02 Touch and Type plays a 700Mb video file without any difficulty.

This phone offers more advanced functionality with this feature than other Nokia phones such as Nokia S60 and S40, though these three phones have the same email navigating, photo, video, games, notes and more functions.

The phone comes with a combination of Touchscreen and T9 keypad and captures pictures and records videos with a 5MPx camera. Though it doesn’t have a LED flash allowing to record low-light videos or in night mode, but as we have seen in the video this phone comes with more awesome features, which cover this minor shortcoming.
