First Nokia announced it pulls out all Symbian and S40 smartphones from the U.S., then made an official statement about not releasing the Nokia N9 in the U.S. With all their steps they want to remind us that their new strategy is based on Windows Phone. A couple of days ago Nokia president and head of North American operations Chris Weber said in an interview what the key points of WP OS are and how the company has planned to beat Android and iOS.

According to his words, Android and iOS are built around apps while Windows Phone is based around users’ contacts, which means these users can bypass many steps making it easier to manage the phone. Weber meant the new voice texting technology that was demonstrated lately. If other WP-powered handsets receive such functionality with the Mango update, Nokia’s smartphones running Microsoft’s platform will get it on the board initially.
This is one of the key points of Nokia’s upcoming Windows Phone smartphones, and as Weber said, Windows Phone 7 will make iOS and Android look outdated. The awaited devices will be launched in 2012 and probably Windows Phone OS will return the former glory to Nokia.
Below is a video showing some of the VentureBeat interview with Weber.
